About

Finland Chamber of Commerce in Portugal was founded originally in 1990 under the name of Câmara de Comércio Luso-Finlandesa.

The Chamber was very active during first decades of it's existence, with strong industrial trade (paper machines for example) between Finland and Portugal. Many of the original members of this "Golden Era" still being active in the Chamber, including the original Chairman,  Mr. Tapani "Tapu" Lankinen.

In 2020's the business landscape had changed quite a lot due to digitalization and a new generation of companies and business professionals entering the market. In 2026 Tapu asked Harry Andersson-Bettencourt and Janne Salmi to take the lead of the Chamber, with the intention to restart the operations and make it relevant for the current Finnish business ecosystem in Portugal.

The Members share a connection to Finland, Finnish businesses or Portugal-Finland collaboration. Currently there are around 50 members, ranging from country managers to entrepreneurs, the Embassy staff, local strategic partners to Finnish companies, individual experts and some original members from the 1990's.
